Our inclusive and affirming Christian community in Bellingham, Washington is looking for an Administrative Assistant to serve our congregation.
The Administrative Assistant will work 15 hours per week, maintaining an onsite presence to complete the assigned tasks. A few weeks per year may require more than 15-hours, but staff will be notified in advance.
The positions requires a set schedule of Mon-Thurs from 10AM-2PM.

Create weekly church bulletin for Sunday worship service
Write weekly email notes for the congregation
Produce and send weekly email newsletter using MailChimp
Manage Faith Lutheran Instagram and Facebook accounts, including creating events and regularly posting.
Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design program to produce posters, signage, and social media tiles.
Demonstrate communication skills in-person, in writing, and on the telephone
Welcome walk-in visitors, answer phones, and return voice mails.
Collect and sort incoming mail
Use copy machine to produce bulletins, posters, and other materials as needed.
Work closely with Pastor, Music Director, and Bookkeeper and volunteers as needed.
Practice confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information from church members and staff.
Ability to organize and update paper and electronic files and databases.
Handle communication, contracts, and keys for potential building rentals
Maintain a clean and organized office environment
Experience in Microsoft Office including MS Word, Affinity Publisher, Gmail, and Google Docs, and Google Drive.
Working knowledge of website maintenance.
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, and Canva.

Pay range from $18.66-$21.00 DOE
